We want to ensure your presentation runs smoothly, and have put together guidelines and resources to assist with your preparation and participation.

Oral Presentation @ AESC 2021
Oral presentations will consist of a 10 minute pre-recorded presentation, plus a 1-minute pre-recorded summary with a live Q&A forum at the end of the session.
Please upload your presentation and summary by 14 December 2020 via the respective Oral Presentation & Summary Upload Boxes below.
The 10 minute pre-recorded presentations will be available for delegates to view at their leisure from 27 January 2021 and for the duration of the convention.
Sessions will consist of a 20 minute keynote presentation (if scheduled – check the program) followed by the 1 minute summary presentations. You will then join the other presenters in the session for a live Q & A forum to finish the session.
Questions will be submitted via the text Q & A function in the portal and live discussion led by the session chair.
Diversity @ AESC 2021
The AESC encourages the inclusion of a slide in presentations that informs us of your source of inspiration (e.g. page 1), facts from your home country (e.g. page 2), facts on traditional knowledge and its importance (e.g. page 3) and fascinating work being done by you and your colleagues related to diversity and inclusion (e.g. page 4). This is not required, but we would love to hear from you!

Please ensure the following for participating in the live Q&A session:
Please make sure you log into the platform using CHROME – firefox, edge, explorer etc DO NOT work so please do not use them. If you do not have Chrome installed please install it prior to the scheduled rehearsal.
Please log in 30mins before your presentation starts so we can test your system ahead of time.
If possible please use a wired internet cable not wireless.
As a backup, please send through any PowerPoint slides ahead of the presentation.
If you have the ability to use two screens this will mean you can have multiple functions available to view easily. For example, if sharing slides live, you will be able to view the text Q&A and communicate via chat with the other presenters if required. This is not essential if not possible.

REGISTER BY 4 DECEMBER
Confirm your participation by registering for the convention by 4 December. Your registration link is provided in your acceptance email.
CREATE YOUR PRESENTATION
Pre-record your presentation and summary. Your presentation and summary must not exceed 10 minutes and 1 minute respectively.
Your 1 minute summary should consist of 1 slide only, outlining the main points of your presentation. Please view the template.
We recommend trying to include your face as much as possible for that ‘human’ element. Click Here for instructions on how to create your video and hints and tips on how to make it engaging.
SUBMIT YOUR PRESENTATION
Submit your videos by Monday 14 December via the respective Oral Presentation & Summary Upload Boxes below. above. Files should be named using the following as a guide (AESC_Oral__Lastname_Firstname) and adding a keyword if submitting more than one presentation. Conference Design will be in contact only to advise if edits are required.
Join the session on your scheduled day and time to answer questions live from the audience.
All live and pre-recorded presentations will be available to delegates after the event unless you advise otherwise. Any additional files authors choose to share will also be available to view during and after their presentation.
Access to the virtual platform is restricted to convention participants only and cannot be found by search engines.
During the registration process, delegates must acknowledge and agree to the virtual convention Terms & Conditions, which include strict rules around unauthorised photography and recording of convention material. While these measures can be taken, we cannot enforce this rule in an online environment. The assumption should be made that participants may indeed take unauthorised photographs, screenshots, audio, or video recordings, therefore you may wish to adjust the content of your presentation accordingly.
