Application of Lognormal Statistics for Coarse Gravity Separation of Base Metal Ores

The use of the statistical-based lognormal method is considered promising to be applied to a gravity-based separation device (e.g., Dense Medium Cyclone), particularly for the purpose of separating waste from valuable base metal ores at coarser particle size (i.e., between 20 to 45 mm) before the grinding process.
